Can we keep him?

Sunday, I was getting ready for church with Connor propped up on my bed. Owen walks in, crawls up on bed, puts his arm around Connor and snuggles into him. He looks up at me and says,

"Mom, can we keep him?"

I come over and say, "Guess what? We can keep him forever and ever..."

"Good. Because I love him."

Way too precious.

Owen's adjustment

Owen has finally been acting more settled and adjusted. It took a few weeks to get in a rhythm and all, but we are getting there! Here are some funny pictures from last week. The first is what I found when we came downstairs before church...guess who found the Hershey Kisses??? The second is of Owen acting like baby Connor in his car seat. Love his mischievous look!

A growing boy

Here are a few recent pictures of Connor. (Connor getting big at one month old; First smile on camera; Zen baby) I am continuing to adjust to life with two children...it takes a bit more organization and a bit more patience. I took them out by myself this past Monday and the "getting out the door" process took 1.5 hours. However, we shaved it down to 20 minutes today! Progress is happening! I feel so blessed to have two healthy children and although tired, I feel really happy. Being a mother truly is a gift. Thank you, God, for my little boys!

New Year's Eve

We spent New Year's Eve at Jon and Mandy's house. As you can see, Owen had a ball. He was loving playing with Braylon and Noah! It was also Owen's first sleepover at a friend's house (with Mommy and Daddy). I love these pictures...especially the ones with Owen and Noah on the chair and on Owen's "bed." Too cute. I'm thankful that Owen has such great friends to play with and enjoy. They are such goofballs together--oh the fun to have!

What holiday traditions do you have?

I always love asking this questions to people I meet. I guess it is to get ideas for my newly budding family. I am always on the lookout for ways to make holidays more special and meaningful. One thing this year that I would really love to incorporate is the "family pajama." I know, a lot of you might be laughing about the concept of having matching pj's, but one of my friends from Harrisonburg grew up with this tradition and I thought it sounded neat. They could unwrap one gift on Christmas Eve (which was the family pj) and then they all wore it to bed and woke up the next morning to do the Christmas festivities in matching attire.

Except...do you know how hard it is to find the "family pj?" I mean you can find matching/coordinating jammies at countless websites, but in the correct sizes that you need? That is the challenge. So, I'm going to have my extraordinary brother's business (Springer Design), a logo design/screen printing/anything you want they can make company, create us some. I don't know why I didn't think of this sooner. So, be looking sometime next year for pictures of the first annual, "I (heart) my family" jammies.

So, I pose the question to you...what are your family traditions?
